Our calendar is always being updated with new classes, workshops and events.
Studio Members receive bi-weekly training, a monthly workshop and a monthly improv class with their membership.
Limited session classes are also available throughout the year on a first come/first served basis. Note, ALL Studio Members are welcome to attend and observe the work even if they are not signed up as an active participant.

Actor, Writer & ActorPlaybook Creator, Jami Tennille
Jami hosts bi-weekly training sessions on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm EST. Sessions vary to allow for actors to practice and develop multiple skill-sets. Auditioning, performing live, role-prep, self-tapes and monologues are examples from past sessions.
Sessions run approximately two hours and all Studio Members are welcome to participate or observe. Craft discussion and an industry Q & A are also included.
Jami believes having a supportive community and creating a safe space for actors to train are essential for artistic growth.
Actor & Coach, Alexandra Wright
Alexandra Wright teaches multiple workshops including Voice and The Alba Technique. She also teaches Advanced Scene Study.
Alex has a BA from the University of Southern California (Recipient of Doolittle Award: Outstanding Female Performer of graduating class) and an MFA from ART/MXAT at Harvard University. Acting has taken her to Paris, London, Scotland, and Moscow and has given her the opportunity to work with exceptional artists, such as Neil Patrick Harris, Neil Gaiman, Scott Zigler, and Kevin Bright. Her specialty lies in understanding how upbringing, background, gender, race, sexuality, and trauma shape performance as it relates to body language, communication skills, voice, and presence.

Actor & Coach, Lorrie Odom
Lorrie Odom teaches Self-Tape workshops and Acting 101 for Film & Television.
Lorrie is a Howard University graduate and has been an actress in NYC for the past 20 years. She is currently recurring on HULU's original series SHUT EYE, Season 2 opposite star Isabella Rossellini. Lorrie's upcoming Films Include: KINGS opposite Oscar Winner Halle Berry, ISN'T IT ROMANTIC opposite Rebel Wilson, BREAKING BROOKLYN opposite Louis Gossett Jr., and the Indie feature THE MAN IN THE WOODS.

PIT Improv Instructor, Sunny Atwal
Sunny Atwal teaches a monthly improv class. Class occurs on the last Monday of each month at 7 pm EST.
Sunny has over a decade’s worth of public speaking experience. He has given a plethora of keynote speeches for different organizations throughout the years. He has hosted/emceed events such as the International Marketplace Coalition Banquet in Indianapolis & Patchwork Indy. He is a former State Champion in poetry. He has written, acted, and produced several shows for the Indy Fringe festival as well as his own 45 minute Solo Show, Taxi Cab Driver, at SOLOCOM 2019. Sunny has also hosted for the Indy Visitor’s Channel which played throughout Indianapolis hotels explaining tourist attractions. Additionally, he performs Stand Up throughout New York City & is currently the Director of Classes at the People's Improv Theater in New York City!
Actor & Coach, David Dean Bottrell
Meet industry veteran, David Dean Bottrell. Known for his quirky characterizations, he’s since played many major guest star and recurring roles on such shows as "Modern Family," "The Blacklist," "Rectify," “Mad Men,” “Justified,” “True Blood,” “CSI,” “NCIS,” “Castle,” “Bones,” “Ugly Betty” “Criminal Minds,” “iCarly,” “Longmire,” and “Days of Our Lives.” But he is probably best known for playing the creepy “Lincoln Meyer” on season three of “Boston Legal” (a character created for him by TV icon, David E. Kelley).

Casting Director, Angela Mickey
Angela is the Managing Director of Casting for Liz Lewis Casting Partners and has been at this powerhouse office for 21 years casting on-camera commercials, V/O's, TV, Film, and theater.
Recent commercial projects include Comcast, Disney, Bank of America, White Castle, Lumify and Cicis Pizza. Recent film/TV projects include Simi Valley, King of Knives, DOE, ReRUN, and A Year in Change.
Angela teaches Commercial Audition Workshops at ActorPlaybook and replays of all her past workshops are available for viewing with a Studio Membership.
Casting Director, Kyle Crand
Partner at CP Casting, Kyle Crand has been the Casting Director at CP since 2006. He has worked on 50+ feature film and television projects in that time. Recent projects include Greta Gerwig's "Little Women", Max Winkler's "Jungleland", Jake Scott's "American Woman"", "Castle Rock" for Hulu, and "City on a Hill" and "SMILF" for Showtime" Other highlights include: "November Criminals", "Daddy's Home 2", "Detroit", “Thoroughbreds”, “Manchester-by-the-Sea”, "Spotlight", "Black Mass", "The Heat", and "The Town". He was on the Casting team that won Artios Awards from the Casting Society of America for "Gone, Baby, Gone" and "Moonrise Kingdom." Additionally, he was a lead associate for HBO's Olive Kitteridge, which won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Casting in 2015.

Actor, Author & Branding Expert, Carla Renata
Carla Renata combines her experience of being a working actor for over 20 years on Broadway, national commercials, voice-overs, online radio personality, film blogger and former publicist to show actors that this business is doable if you have the right mental attitude and tools.
Her book The Actor's Guide to Self-Marketing is designed to assist actors in fine-tuning your brand. "Let’s face it…if you don’t know who you are, how do you expect your reps to figure it out?" Competition is stiff with more and more film stars starring on television, commercials, animation, etc… So the clearer your image is…the easier it will be for you to find a lane to stand-out in.
Having recurred as "Janet" on NBC-TV's Superstore for the last five seasons, Carla broke records becoming the first actress to recur on four sitcoms simultaneously in one episodic season TWICE! a graduate of Howard University, she also broke records becoming one of the first post-quarantine actors to book a commercial online via self-tape, her book can be found online via Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com.
