Audition Analysis with Lisa Kitay

Class Dates/Time: June 21st, July 12th & August 9th at 6:30 pm EST

“Monologues need to be rich and full of life. They need to go somewhere and have moments. What else can offer you all of this but a tight one-minute performance piece? In a very measurable and concise space, you can do all the work necessary to execute brilliance. And because it’s so compact, you can really focus your attention on finding and filling those moments and executing an effective arc.”

Are you ready for your close-up?

Join in this 3-Class Summer Monologue Series with Special Guest Writer, Debra Gagnon.

Actors will be assigned a monologue in class followed by 15 minutes with the copy to make your initial character choices before performing. You will be given feedback and adjustment practice.

Participation in this first class will allow our guest writer to observe your work and make notes regarding you specifically as an actor.

*They will then be writing an original monologue for you to work with.*

Class discussion will begin with technique to approach a monologue performance and then actors will be given their original monologue written by our guest writer. Actors will be given time with the copy and have the ability to ask questions to the instructor and writer before performance practice

CLASS 3 concludes with a Monologue SLAM Competition!

Self-tapes have become the auditioning norm and as actors we must practice with our self-tape set-up and consistently flex our audition skill-set. This 3-Class Summer Self-Tape Series will provide feedback on your self-tape auditions, deliberate practice, insight and community to keep you connected to your craft throughout the summer.

Are you staying consistent with your audition practice and learning how to elevate your self-tapes?

Join in this 3-Class Summer Self-Tape Series with Guest Coach, Lorrie Odom.

Actors will be assigned co-star sides and self-taping instructions before this first class. Self-Tapes will be submitted prior and viewed together in class. Self-tape discussion and feedback will be provided.

Self-tapes that BOOKED special edition! View and discuss examples of tapes that BOOKED. In addition, actors are encouraged to share their own self-tapes that booked, too.

Guest-Star FLEX! Actors will be assigned guest star sides and will create a self-tape “audition” for the role to be submitted prior to class. Tapes will be viewed during class and feedback will be provided.
