Born into a family of artists, his mom a theater director / journalist and his father a stage actor, it was almost inevitable that Ian would fall into the family business. Given the long shadow of his big brother (Christian Anderson), a successful Broadway actor, Ian at first shied away from acting and was drawn toward behind the scenes film and TV work (Scrubs, Party Of Five, All That, Sabrina The Teenage Witch), but given an opportunity to audition for SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH (which he booked!) the acting bug was soon ignited. Now a husband of 25 years to his amazing wife Capucine, a father of 2 boys (Elliot & Oliver), 2 heart surgeries later and a member of the Screen Actors Guild since 1999 resulting in over forty on screen credits (Madam Secretary, Dexter, Boston Strangler, George & Tammy, Julia, The Resident, Dynasty, Defending Jacob, Luke Cage…), Ian finally feels comfortable enough to refer to himself as an actor.
